FROM I-86 / ROUTE 17 [ EXIT 7 ] TO PANAMA ROCKS:
Go south to Panama on County Route 33 [5 miles].
In the village of Panama you will come to a flashing light.
THERE IS NO SIGN AT THE LIGHT
Turn right at the light, onto NY 474 West.
Go less than 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Rt. 10 West.
Drive up the hill, and turn left at the park entrance.
[Panama Rocks is less than 1/2 mile from the light.]
DIRECTIONS: FROM BUFFALO
Drive time from downtown Buffalo, or
from the Walden Galleria, is about 90 minutes.
Take the I-90 West to Westfield [EXIT 60].
Turn left on NY 394. Go through Westfield and Mayville.
About 2-3 miles south of Mayville, turn right on County Route 33.
[At the corner is Andriaccio's Restaurant, and a school.]
Go south to Panama on County Route 33 [10 miles].
In Panama you will come to a flashing light.
THERE IS NO SIGN AT THE LIGHT
Turn right at the light, onto NY 474 West.
Go less than 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Rt. 10 West.
Drive up the hill, and turn left at the park entrance.
[Panama Rocks is less than 1/2 mile from the light.]
DIRECTIONS FROM ERIE
Drive time from I-90 at Exit 24 [ Peach St.] is about 45 minutes
[i.e., when there is no construction or traffic slow-downs]
Take I-90 EAST to I-86 (Exit 37) (just past the Harborcreek Exit)
Take I-86 East into New York to EXIT 7.
Turn right at EXIT 7 (County Route 33).
Go south to Panama on Route 33 [5 miles].
In Panama you will come to a flashing light.
THERE IS NO SIGN AT THE LIGHT
Turn right at the light, onto NY 474 West.
Go less than 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Rt. 10 West.
Drive up the hill, and turn left at the park entrance.
[Panama Rocks is less than 1/2 mile from the light.]
ALETRNATE ROUTE: (if I-90 is congested with traffic)
NOTE: AS OF JULY 2007 A BRIDGE IS OUT
AND THERE IS A DETOUR IN WATTSBURG
Get off at the Parade Street Exit [Exit 29?], PA Route 8
Take Route 8 to Wattsburg.
In Wattsburg turn left onto Route 474 (east)
Take 474 through Clymer, NY
4 miles east of Clymer turn right on Rt. 10 (east)
Take Route 10 to Panama Rocks Park (5 miles)
This route is 9 miles shorter than taking I-86,
and, the drive time to get here is about the same,
except it is via picturesque, 2 lane country roads.
DIRECTIONS FROM JAMESTOWN
Drive time from City Hall is 20 minutes.
Take NY 394 West to NY 474 West, in Ashville
[the junction is near the 'Smith Boys Marina'];
Turn left onto NY 474, and go through Ashville,
and Blockville, to Panama [it is about 7 miles].
In Panama you will come to a flashing light.
THERE IS NO SIGN AT THE LIGHT
At the light, continue straight ahead on 474 WEST.
Go less than 1/4 mile. Turn left onto Rt. 10 West.
[There is a small 'PANAMA ROCKS' sign there].
Drive up the hill, and turn left at the park entrance.
[Panama Rocks is less than 1/2 mile from the light.]
