CAMPGROUND RULES & POLICIES

We reserve the right to remove guests who violate our rules without refund. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards threats made to our staff or guests. The police will be called if you threaten, or are overheard threatening, another person.

BEFORE ENTERING THE ROCKS: All guests must go through an in-person safety briefing and adults must sign a waiver of liability before entering the scenic rock area. Guests arriving after 5:00pm may have to wait until 10:00am the following day to go into the rock area.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT: Campers may check-in between the hours of 2:00pm and 5:00pm. We ask that all guests check-out by 10:00am. You are welcome to visit communal areas of the park, including the rocks, between 10:00am and 5:00pm on the day of your arrival and departure. If you need to check-in or check-out outside of these hours, please contact park management as soon as possible at 716-703-0021 or [email protected].

REFUNDS & CANCELLATIONS (FOR INDIVIDUAL BOOKINGS): Full refunds are available if you cancel up to 14 days before your check-in date. Partial refunds of 50% are available if you cancel 7 to 13 days before your check-in date. No refunds are available if you cancel within 6 days of your check-in date. Full refunds are available if Panama Rocks has to cancel your reservation before check-in. Our refund policy is different for group reservations (please contact us for details).

PARKING: Vehicles under 6,000 pounds (gross vehicle weight) may park at tent sites if the ground is dry/hard (this is about the weight of a Ford F-150); however, if the ground is wet/soft we may require vehicles to park in the parking lot (you will still be able to drive to your site to load/unload). We also ask that vehicles do not drive into the campground after 9:00pm so that headlights do not disturb other campers. All vehicles of overnight guests must be registered with the park and have a parking pass visible on the inside dashboard.

GLAMPING TENT CARE: Our tents are made of cotton canvas that can stain or tear if not treated with respect. We carefully document the condition of each tent and its contents before and after each rental.
  • CLEAN HANDS ONLY! Ideally the tent canvas should be touched as little as possible and only with clean hands when needed (to prevent staining, molding, etc.). Wet wipes are provided both outside and inside your tent to help keep your hands clean.
  • TELL US IF THERE IS A PROBLEM! If there is a problem with your tent at any point during your stay, please notify park management immediately! Let us help fix issues before they become problems!
  • CANDLES & OPEN FLAMES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN OUR TENTS!
If your rental unit requires additional cleaning due to extraordinarily dirty conditions beyond normal use (including but not limited to stains, excessive mud or dirt, pet waste, food waste, human waste, etc.) an additional cleaning fee – and potentially fees for repair, replacement, and lost rent - will be charged.

VISITING THE ROCKS: Guests are only allowed in the scenic rock area after participating in our in-person safety talk and signing the waiver of liability. Admission to the Panama Rocks scenic area is included with your overnight stay; however, guests are only allowed in the scenic rock area between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm unless additional hours are noted by park management. Please enter the rock area only at the main entrance booth. Guests who enter the scenic rock area after hours or without signing our waiver will be required to immediately leave the park/campground without a refund and may face prosecution for criminal trespass (we’re serious about this – accidents can result in serious injury and/or death).

FOOD AND GARBAGE STORAGE: DO NOT FEED WILD ANIMALS! You can eat in your tent but to prevent animal visitors food and food waste must NOT be left out unattended or overnight.
  • Do not leave food or garbage unattended. Messes/crumbs/spills must be cleaned up immediately.
  • Food/leftovers must be stored securely in a glamping tent mini-fridge or in your vehicle.
  • Food waste can be disposed of outside of the tent in our animal-proof trash can located in the amenity shed (or in your vehicle). Please close and latch the shed door behind you to keep animals out!

CAMPFIRES: You are welcome to start a fire in one of our designated fire pits. Please do not burn anything other than wood. DO NOT bring firewood onto our property. We have firewood available for your use and you are welcome to collect fallen sticks from the forest. Do not leave fires unattended and PLEASE make sure that your fire is completely out (including all coals) when you leave or go to sleep to prevent forest fires. To prevent the spread of invasive species, WE DO NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE FIREWOOD.

KEEP THE NOISE DOWN: Most of our guests visit to enjoy nature in peace. We ask all guests to respect one another and keep noise to a minimum (conversational level) at all times. Quiet time (whisper level) is from 9:00pm to 9:00am and is strictly enforced.

SUPERVISE CHILDREN & YOUTH: Children and youth must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times. Youth under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Panama Rocks scenic area without an adult. Youth under the age of 18 must be either at their campsite or with a responsible adult between 9:00pm and 6:00am.

ALCOHOL & DRUGS:
Public drunkenness/inebriation will not be tolerated (enjoy yourself, but don’t become a problem for others). Illegal drug use is not permitted. Alcohol is not permitted outside the campground area. Smoking is not allowed in our glamping tents or within 20 feet of our glamping tents or other guests. You may NOT enter the scenic rock area while under the influence of drugs or alcohol!

ADDITIONAL GUESTS: Guests are welcome between the hours of 10:00am and 5:00pm when the park is open to the public (they must pay park admission like all other park guests) but please bring no more than five (5) guests to your campsite at one time to keep the grounds peaceful for others.

PARTIES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE CAMPGROUND: Parties and large groups are not allowed in the campground but we welcome parties and groups in the picnic area or park rec hall during park hours from 10:00am to 5:00pm or after 5:00pm by reservation. Guests must pay park admission during park hours (10:00am to 5:00pm) and/or before entering the Panama Rocks scenic rock area. You are welcome to host up to five guests at at time between the hours of 10:00am and 9:00pm (after normal park hours). You must secure a guest parking pass before the arrival of your guests who plan to visit after 5:00pm (our office is open from 10:00am to 5:00pm). All guests must sign a park waiver of liability, follow park rules, and leave park grounds by 9:00pm.

PETS: Up to two dogs are welcome in our pet-friendly units (look for the paw mark designation) for an additional fee. Dogs must BE LEASHED AND ATTENDED BY OWNERS AT ALL TIMES while on park grounds (don't leave them alone). Dogs MUST BE FRIENDLY with strangers and children. We reserve the right to remove any animal that is disruptive, destructive, or dangerous.
  • Glamping Pet Fee: $20 per night per pet.
  • Tent Site Pet Fee: $5 per pet per night.

LEAVE
NO TRACE: Clean up after yourself and make it look like you were never there. This is for your neighbors, future guests, and for the environment. If you moved anything, move it back. Keeping a clean campsite ensures future camping for everyone! If you make an unreasonable mess or destroy park property you may charged a cleaning fee of $50 per hour, damages, and lost revenue.

WHAT’S THAT NOISE?!: If you hear an air raid siren, it is our volunteer fire department. When someone calls 911 in our area, the siren will sound until a firefighter turns it off.

EMERGENCIES: IF THERE IS AN EMERGENCY, CALL 911 FIRST. After calling 911, or for small emergencies, please contact the park owner (contact info given at check-in). We are a small, family run park and campground and we don’t have 24-hour staff. If your call is not answered on the first attempt, please immediately call a second time and leave a voicemail if needed. We will respond as soon as possible.

SHORT TERM RENTALS: All campground rentals at Panama Rocks are for short-term recreational use only. This is not a long-term rental agreement and does not create a lease, tenancy, or landlord-tenant relationship. Reservations are limited to a maximum of 14 consecutive nights per booking, with no more than 28 consecutive nights of total occupancy allowed before a required break in stay. Campground rentals are revocable at any time for violation of campground rules or other lawful reasons, and may not be used to establish residency or permanent occupancy.
